An examiner of the land court shall file his report in triplicate. He may appear and act as counsel for any applicant for the registration of any title not assigned to him for examination; but as to titles assigned to him for examination, he shall not act as counsel for any party interested or appearing therein. Where an applicant files original muniments of titles with his application which have been abstracted and contained in the applicant's filed abstract of title, they shall not be delivered to the examiner for check but shall remain with the record. One month only shall be allowed for the examination of an abstract unless further time shall be allowed by the court on cause shown.
