Employing an Appraiser or Auctioneer

A court order approving the employment of an appraiser or auc- tioneer must set the amount or rate of compensation. An officer or employee of the United States judiciary or United States De- partment of Justice is not eligible to act as an appraiser or auc- tioneer. No residence or licensing requirement disqualifies a per- son from being so employed. (As amended Apr. 30, 1991, eff. Aug. 1, 1991; Apr. 2, 2024, eff. Dec. 1, 2024.)
