A judge to whom these canons become applicable shall arrange personal affairs as soon as reasonably possible to comply with them. If, however, the demands on a judge's time are substantial and the possibility of conflicts of interest are not substantial, a judge who holds judicial office on the date these canons become effective may: (a) continue to act as an officer, director, or non-legal advisor of a family business; (b) continue to act as an executor, administrator, trustee, or other fiduciary for the estate or person of one who is not a member of the judge's family.* Reference: Minutes of the Judiciary Standards Committee on 03/26/10, 06/15/10, and 09/17/10. EFFECTIVE DATE This Code becomes effective July 1, 2012.
