In any district or circuit court proceeding wherein the official record is made on videotape, the procedures set out in these rules shall take precedence over conflicting statutes and over conflicting Alabama rules of procedure; however, all rules of procedure shall remain applicable to court proceedings recorded on videotape to the extent that they do not conflict with the procedures set out in these rules. These rules specifically authorize exceptions to Canon 3.A. (7), (7A), and (7B) of the Canons of Judicial Ethics.
