Dower; Life Estate

(a) Commutation of Dower. The dower of a healthy person in land sold by judgment of the court will, unless otherwise adjudged, be commuted according to the following schedule: Under 30 years of age Above 30 and under 35 Above 35 and under 40 Above 40 and under 45 Above 45 and under 51 Above 51 and under 56 Above 56 and under 61 Above 61 and under 67 Above 67 and under 72 Above 72 and under 77 Above 77 1/6th 2/13th 1/7th 2/15th 1/8th 1/9th 1/10th 1/12th 1/14th 1/18th 1/20th (b) Allowance for Life Estate. Allowance to a healthy tenant for life, unless otherwise adjudged, shall be 3 times the allowance in lieu of dower to a person of the same age. COMMENT Identical to USDCDC Rule 24.
