(a) Docketing the Appeal. Upon receiving the copies of the notice of appeal and other documents from the district court clerk under Rule 3, the clerk of the Supreme Court will docket the appeal and immediately notify all parties of the docketing date. Automatic appeals from a judgment of conviction of death will be docketed in accordance with SCR 250 . If parties on opposing sides file notices of appeal from the same district court judgment or order, in accordance with Rule 4(a), the appellants and cross-appellants will be designated as provided in Rule 28.1. A subsequent appeal will in all respects be treated as an initial appeal, including the payment of the prescribed filing fee. Cross-appeals will be filed under the same docket number and calendared and argued with the initial appeal. (b) Filing the Record. Upon receiving the record, the clerk of the Supreme Court will file it and immediately notify all parties of the filing date. [Amended; effective August 15, 2024.]
