ELC 2.8 DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL; SPECIAL DISCIPLINARY COUNSEL (a) Function. Disciplinary counsel acts as counsel on all matters under these rules, and performs other duties as required by these rules or the Chief Disciplinary Counsel. (b) Appointment. The Executive Director of the Association, under the direction of the Board of Governors, employs a suitable member of the Association as Chief Disciplinary Counsel, and in consultation with the Chief Disciplinary Counsel, selects and employs suitable members of the association as disciplinary counsel, in a number to be determined by the Executive Director. Special disciplinary counsel may be appointed by the Executive Director whenever necessary to conduct an individual investigation or proceeding.
