Definition of terms

For these rules the terms below shall have the following definitions: "Child" means the person who is the subject of the petition or complaint. "Department" means the Department of Children and Families or its successor. "Order or Decree Dispensing with Consent to Adoption" means an order or decree dispensing with the need for consent to adoption, guardianship or any other disposition of the child, commonly referred to as "termination of parental rights." "Precept" means an order of the court to take and bring the child who is the subject of the care and protection petition before the court.
