(A) Filing. An application for leave to appeal as a cross-appellant may be filed with the clerk within 28 days after service of the application for leave to appeal. The cross-appellant’s application must comply with the requirements of MCR 7.305(A). A late application to cross-appeal will not be accepted. (B) Alternative arguments; new or different relief. A party is not required to file a cross- appeal to advance alternative arguments in support of the judgment or order appealed. A cross-appeal is required to seek new or different relief than that provided by the judgment or order appealed.
