A bailiff shall be present at all times while the court is in session. The bailiff shall be either the sheriff or a deputy sheriff; but in any event, the bailiff shall be approved by the presiding circuit judge. Upon request by the presiding circuit judge, the sheriff shall provide a sufficient number of bailiffs to maintain order in the courtroom at all times and to enforce the rules and orders of the court pertaining to conduct in the courtroom.
