(a) Appointment Process. Trial counsel, defense counsel, and the court-martial have equal opportunity to obtain expert witnesses under Article 46 and R.C.M. 703. (b) Compensation. The compensation of expert witnesses is governed by R.C.M. 703. (c) Accused’s Choice of Experts. This rule does not limit an accused in calling any expert at the accused’s own expense.
