(a) Commission Office. The chair, in consultation with the director of the North Carolina Administrative Office of the Courts (NCAOC), is authorized to establish and maintain an office for the conduct of Commission business. (b) Commission Staff. The chair, in consultation with the director of the NCAOC, is authorized to appoint an executive director and to: (i) fix the executive director’s terms of employment, salary, and benefits; (ii) determine the scope of the executive director’s authority and duties; and (iii) employ other professional and administrative staff as necessary to conduct the Commission’s business.
