6.1 Each applicant must fully attend and complete, at the applicant’s own expense, a 2-day court interpreter basic orientation training conducted by the Administrative Director. The training shall be designed to: (a) familiarize the applicant with the Court Interpreter Certification Program and the Hawaiʻi State Court system and (b) provide instruction on the role of the interpreter and the skills and ethics required of an interpreter in the courtroom. 6.2 Dates, times, locations, and registration fees for the basic orientation training shall be determined by the Administrative Director.
