SCCAR 2.3 ASSIGNMENT TO ARBITRATOR (a) Generally. The parties may select an arbitrator by stipulation. If an arbitrator is not chosen by stipulation within 14 days after a case has been placed on the arbitration calendar, the court shall promptly select an arbitrator and notify the arbitrator and the parties of the assignment. The case is deemed assigned for purposes of rule 1.3 upon the final selection of the arbitrator under this rule. (b) Communication With Potential Arbitrator Restricted. The restrictions on communication defined by rule 4.1 apply to communication with a person under consideration as a possible arbitrator in a case.
