Application

The rules in this chapter govern: (1) Appeals from judgments or appealable orders in: (A) Cases under Welfare and Institutions Code sections 300, 601, and 602; and (B) Actions to free a child from parental custody and control under Family Code section 7800 et seq. and Probate Code section 1516.5; (2) Appeals of orders requiring or dispensing with an alleged father's consent for the adoption of a child under Family Code section 7662 et seq.; and (3) Writ petitions under Welfare and Institutions Code sections 366.26 and 366.28. Rule 8.400 amended effective January 1, 2017; adopted as rule 37 effective January 1, 2005; previously amended and renumbered effective January 1, 2007; previously amended effective January 1, 2006, January 1, 2008, and July 1, 2010.
