Applicability of Rules of Civil Procedure and Criminal Procedure

(a) When the proceeding involves neglect, abuse, dependency, termination of parental rights, adoption, status offenses or truancy, the Utah Rules of Civil Procedure shall apply unless inconsistent with these rules. (b) When the proceeding involves an offense which would be a criminal act if committed by an adult, only the Utah Rules of Criminal Procedure which have been specifically adopted by these rules shall apply. (c) In substantiation proceedings, the procedure set forth in U.C.A. 63G-4-402(2) shall apply.
