Professional Conduct
The following arrangements do not constitute a sale or purchase governed by this Rule: (1) admission to or retirement from a law firm, including retirement and similar plans, (2) mergers of law firms, by acquisition or otherwise, and (3) conveyance of tangible assets of a law firm. This Rule does not apply to the transfers of legal representation between lawyers when such transfers are unrelated to the sale of a practice or an area of practice.
