(a) Appointment. The disciplinary administrator will appoint an attorney on the disciplinary administrator’s staff to serve as the admissions attorney for the Board of Law Examiners. (b) Duties. The admissions attorney has the following duties: (1) conducting a character and fitness investigation of an applicant for admission to the Kansas bar; (2) determining if the applicant meets the character and fitness qualifications under Rule 712; (3) referring an application that presents character and fitness concerns to the Attorney Admissions Review Committee under Rule 703; and (4) prosecuting the matter before the Board when the Review Committee recommends a hearing.
