8 FAM 602.3 Consular Report of Birth Abroad Fees (CITZ-84; 10-14-2022) (Office of Origin: CA/PPT/S/A) 8 FAM 602.3-1 CRBA FEES (CITZ-84; 10-14-2022) a. Refer to the current in the Schedule of Fees for Consular Services for the Department of State and Foreign Service in 22 CFR 22.1, for the fee required for form DS-2029, Application for Consular Report of Birth Abroad of a Citizen of the United States of America. See also 7 FAH-1 H-722 regarding acceptable forms of payment. b . The application fee should be collected before an oath is taken on form DS-2029, and the consular officer should not “preview” cases to determine whether issuance is likely in order to avoid payment of the fee. See 7 FAH-1 H-713.1 for further information . c . The application fee is not refundable except in very limited circumstances (see 22 CFR 22.6 ; 7 FAH-1 H-727 ). If the form DS-11, Application for a U.S. Passport, and form DS-2029 are being adjudicated simultaneously, you should collect both fees because you are adjudicating applications for two separate services .
